It starts with service.
Mark Spagnuolo has been serving the Belmar community for over ten years, through the public and private sectors.
Service is integral to how Mark views leadership - and his resume shows it.
Starting as a Belmar lifeguard, Mark has served as a member of the Belmar water rescue team for over a decade, including during Hurricane Sandy, when he was part of the team on kayaks helping those stranded get to safety.
He volunteers as a member of the Belmar Fire Department through the Goodwill Fire Company, where he was honored with the Captain Ronald Fitzpatrick Award, named for a former instructor at the Fire Academy who died in the line of duty in 2003, and which recognized his outstanding academic achievement and exemplary performance in the Monmouth County Fire Academy.
He is the co-owner of Hoagito’s, located in Belmar Plaza with three other locations in the area. The beloved sandwich shop is known for its support for Belmar recreation and other local initiatives, along with a killer chicken sandwich.
He is a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh and the Friends of Belmar Skatepark.
He and his wife, Emma McGill Spagnuolo, have two daughters who attend Belmar Elementary School.
